Friday 4th March 12 – 2 pm
Public sector unions are staging a joint rally against the proposed cuts that the council is planning to impose.
This will take place on Budget Day, 4th March, when the Council budget, agreed by the Lib Dem Cabinet, will be put before the whole Council.
The aim of the rally is to focus attention on the cuts which will be made to many services – enforcement of standards in private rented accommodation, planning regulations and conservation, support and careers guidance for young adults, junior club and youth activities, support workers in schools, advice centres in our communities, services and care for older people… the list goes on.
People are encouraged to come to the Town Hall to voice their anger and concern about what will happen to people and communities in Sheffield.
The plan is to encircle the Town Hall to demonstrate the desire to protect and promote public sector services.
