Recent developments on the plan to renew the playground building have included the setting up of a sub-group who have met regularly in recent months to work on some of the detail of the plans.
The subgroup is made up of members of the users group, Activity Sheffield and Burngreave New Deal for Communities.
Members of the sub-group fed their ideas into the drawing up of a design brief for the architects.
We've met with the architects to discuss possible materials. We have also had feedback from the Council's planners, who rejected the initial design's but have given us some clear guidelines on what is likely to get permission and they are regularly attending our meetings.
Along with Children's Voices we held an event on 21st of June to discuss ideas and materials for the building with the children. Children's Voices produced a report which helped the architect produce the first ideas for the design.
Three layout ideas were produced and discussed by the group and staff at the playground. Everyone agreed that option 2 best the met needs of the playground. Several features still need to be agreed on and these will be voted on by the children, parents and residents.
The designs will be on display at the playground's summer party on 30th August, there will be a model of the design and the architect will be on hand to answer questions.
