Environment/Buildings working group

This is a working sub-group of the BCAF co-ordinating committee which consists of some co-ordinating committee members plus other interested active residents or workers in the area.

Meetings discuss any aspects of the green and build environment of the Burngreave ward area including issues such as building applications, SCC new housing plans, new building technology and energy saving schemes.

The group is represented on the Advancing together Spital Hill Transformational Projects Steering Group, Spital Hill Projects Group, The Woodside New housing Group and other campaigning groups in the area. At the moment there is no representation from the FirVale Page Hall areas.

Visits are also arranged to sites of relevant interest; recently Gibson Mill near Hebden Bridge and Hockerton housing Project, Newark. Members have also attended self build housing training days and visited bio-mass heating projects.

The group currently meets on the second Monday in each month at 6.30pm in the BCAF offices at 12/14 Burngreave Road.

All are welcome!
