The Burngreave/Canklow Crusaders semi-final was eventually played at Stocksbridge and the lads were defeated 2-1 to an overwhelming Stocksbridge team. Without doubt Burngreave had the lions share of play and had more than ample chances to lay the game to rest. On chances alone we were around 3 – 1 on to take the game. Several forced substitutions were made through players getting injured during the game which are proving to be costly on future league games.
The league got back under way this weekend with a reversed fixture against woodhouse, one of only 2 teams who could catch us in the table. Injuries and player suspensions showed and again we lost 2-1. This is only our 3rd loss of the season but due to other results around us we can actually get away with this one but the remaining fixtures are on a must win basis now. Should we encounter any more lost points we are still on course for a top 3 place which in its own right is a fantastic achievement, without doubt.
