The petition called on the Council to improve maintenance, to provide effective strimming around graves, while protecting wildlife habitates.
It was also raised at Full Council and at the Burngreave Area Panel, that a meeting for grave owners was needed, so that they could understand what plans were in place for maintanence work in the Cemetery. Concern was also raised about the uncoordinated approach to maintenance, resulted in cutting down planted trees, cutting back bushes during bird nesting season and cuttings left for months on road and paths.
A meeting has yet to be arranged.
