Supporters and beneficiaries of Endeavour – a charity supporting young people out of mainstream education were recently given the opportunity to visit Buckingham Palace in London for a reception and meal.
We were invited by our patron His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent and used it as an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to some of our volunteers and supporters. Seven young people who have attended Endeavour’s Education Centre went to represent the charity and mingle with the Duke and other guests, sharing their experiences and talking about how Endeavour has supported them. One young person, Vince, even gave a presentation to the whole room telling the moving story of his return to full time education and progression to college.
After the reception, the young people enjoyed a tour of London whilst Endeavour’s supporters headed to the Chinese dining room for a meal with the Duke. Patrick Callingham, Head of Education at Endeavour said: “Going to London and visiting the palace was awesome for our learners. Not only was it a once in lifetime experience visiting the palace, it was a huge boost for their confidence, mixing with our supporters and sharing their stories with everyone. They are still buzzing from the experience!”
