After a prolonged period of unavailability, the situation with the Vestry Hall has now changed for the better. Extensive repairs have been made to the floor in the main hall damaged by leakage of water from the roof.
Individuals, families and community organisations who wish to hold events in the main hall can now make bookings through the reception desk in Sorby House on 0114 203 9000.
Hiring charges for the main hall are £36 per hour for the first hour, £18 per hour thereafter. Over the weekend, there is an extra charge for security of £30. Discounts are available for community groups.
Hopefully, these new arrangements will allow for greater use of the Vestry Hall, which was the reason New Deal for Communities spent £4 million refurbishing the building ten years ago.
