Wensley is located at the edge of the Burngreave and Firth Park wards. The newly formed Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) are working hard to help turn the image of the estate around and encouraging people to view the estate as it is a positive place where people live work and get on together.
The TARA are focusing some of their efforts on developing the park area.
Wensley Park used to be a well-managed multi use park but in recent years, as council cuts have bitten, the park has become so run down it’s now a barren, run down, space.
The TARA has successfully managed to secure some councillors ward pot funding for much needed swings on the park; and are working closely with council officers and councillors to hopefully give the park a much needed facelift. There are plans to raise money for quality equipment and hopefully landscaping the area into a desirable area that the whole community, young and old, will be able to use.
The TARA are always looking for people to get involved in the work they carry out. If you feel you want to contribute to the development of the park to get involved with the work of the TARA please see below for when you get involved or just talk to the members.
