On the lovely summer’s day of 14th July, the sights and sounds of everybody having a good time greeted me as I visited St Peter’s annual fair.
It was a well organised and attended event, with many stalls and activities. There were crafts and toys, bookstalls, bric-a-brac, plant sales raffles and tasty treats. Plenty to do for the kids too, a bouncy castle, pebble painting and glitter tattoos, mask making and lots more. In the fresh air was a free BBQ and a Djembe drumming circle. Something for everyone!
Janet Lawless, a member of the congregation, had an information stall within the church, with pamphlets and leaflets about upcoming events and activities, she said:
“St Peters is more than a church it is a community centre for many faiths where everyone is welcome”
It was a great day put on by the people at St Peters and it was enjoyed and appreciated by many.
