Don’t get stressed

Story by Angela Barrows

Congratulations to those who have completed their exams this year. We know it can be stressful but what an achievement and thank goodness it’s over for another year!

Exam results day is round the corner but don’t let this stress you out. You have come this far and whatever your results they do not define you.

If you’re not happy with the outcome speak to your teachers, parents or family and friends who can support you.It can be upsetting working hard and not getting the grades you wanted or needed but just know that there are a variety of options available for you to consider.

It is easy to compare your grades with friends, some might have better grades and some might have not done as well. Everybody is different and you should concentrate on the next step that will get you to where you want to be.

Make sure you celebrate! Even the smallest success is an accomplishment, go out for a meal or to the cinema or even just a day in the park with your friends, you’ve earned it.

It’s the summer holidays and so now you have a chance to relax and what great weather we have had for it too.

We think it is a great idea to research your career choices, deciding what you might like to do in the future whether that’s an apprenticeship, attending university or even choosing somewhere to do work experience. This will all help you to decide your future career.

Parents you may feel upset for your children and you might also need to find support from family, friends or other parents. Try to support your child as best you can, if you need further intervention contact the school/college about possible next steps.

And finally, all best wishes with whatever you decide to do.

We want your feed back!
