On Tuesday 17th of July Abbeyfield Park had some surprise guests – a duck and her eight ducklings were waddling and chirping around the inside perimeter of Abbeyfield Park, clearly a little lost and distressed, and in need of directions to the nearest watering hole.
Luckily with the advice of Wildlife Samaritans Sheffield, and the help of their new friends a gentleman from the local carwash who carefully collected up the little ducklings in a box and Deborah Blencowe, a Messenger staff member, who carried them down to Crabtree Ponds under the birds eye supervision of their mother.
Mother and ducklings were reunited in a more suitable, cooler wetter, home.
