All at the volunteers’ party had a lovely time on Saturday 24th of August.

There were activities for people to enjoy while meeting and chatting together including, crafting with Surtag Hack and puzzles and games, featuring a quiz with the Messenger’s own Graham Jones. There was an animated talk with Martin Currie and his glamorous assistants Gary Manton and Victor Mujakachi.

Kate Sheldrick, our volunteer and editorial committee chair, commented that the event was welcoming and well organised, a great opportunity to talk to fellow volunteers and colleagues with a variety of activities in the lovely surroundings of Abbey field Park.

There was a nice spread of food including Deborah’s homemade cheese flans. Singing, smiles and laughter.

Adrian Lake one of the Messenger’s volunteers said it was very well attended and a friendly gathering.

It was a celebration of our much valued existing volunteers, and a welcome to new ones. Thank you to all who attended and contributed to making the event happen.
