Story by Haseeb Siddiq

Ellesmere Children’s Centre manager, Dr Sharon Curtis, has been short-listed as a Nursery Manager of the Year finalist in the Nursery World 2018 awards. The awards continue to grow in quality importance and reputation, ‘shining a light’ on best practice in the sector.

Ellesmere Children’s Centre is an ambassador for early years education, rewarded for it excellence in diversity, transculture play and early education. In the summer, the centre hosted an visit from Professor Michael MPatte, of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, and some of his students. The professor and his students were thrilled with the nursery and the value of transcultural care.

One of the students said:

“Thank you so much for having us at Ellesmere! It is a fantastic centre, I loved the sensory corner when you first walked in as well as the classrooms. It’s clear the kids really love it there.”
