As we approach summer (despite the torrential rain coming down as we put this issue together) we bring back our popular photography competition. The competition is named after local photographer Richard Hanson, who was a great supporter of the Messenger and contributed many photos until he sadly passed away in 2014.
Richard’s most seen work is probably the ‘Common Thread’ project which runs around the hoarding outside Tesco on Saville Street, showing a proud selection of Burngreave residents. Many of his photos can still be found on his archived blog – https://hansonphoto.wordpress.com/
