International Women’s Day with WiCAT (Women in Construction, Arts & Technology) went down a storm on Sunday 8th March.

More than 30 women and girls turned up to take part in 23 different DIY taster sessions!

One of the students at the workshop commented:

“We have learned some essential skills, thanks to WiCAT we can now point our outside walls, wallpaper our inside walls, rewire plugs, sockets and light fittings, make things out of wood and do dry stone walling!”

A fantastic lunch was on offer and most students stayed around to take part in the whole day.

WiCAT offers classes in a whole range of construction skills, home maintenance and general DIY skills, such as bricklaying, plastering, tiling and more.

To get involved, check out their website at www.wicat.org.uk or find them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter (@wicatsheffield).
