Where to access support during lockdown and self-isolation

Where to access support

NHS

For medical support, follow NHS guidance: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

Mutual aid

If you need help with shopping or prescriptions, and have the resources to pay for what you need, you can join the Burngreave mutual aid group on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/530135937888682/ and post your request, where someone from the neighbourhood can try and help.

Mutual aid Facebook groups for other areas can be found on a map provided by VAS (Voluntary Action Sheffield) at https://www.vas.org.uk/sheffield-covid-support-map/ and post your request.

If you do not have a local group or are not sure which group to use, you can also ask for help in the Sheffield Mutual Aid main Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/709728802898423/.

Sheffield City Council community support team

If you are over 70 or in a vulnerable situation and need emergency support such as food, gas/electric or medication, contact Sheffield City Council’s Community Support Team on 0114 205 7120, open Monday – Friday 9 – 5pm. A Community Support Worker will respond to you.

Community hubs

If you need access to food, advice, information, phone support with health and well-being (including emotional and mental health and social support), or to be directed/referred to other forms of support, locate your nearest community hub on this map https://www.vas.org.uk/sheffield-covid-support-map/ and give them a call.

If you are a mutual aid group needing help with resources or to refer someone you are unable to support locally to other services, please also contact your nearest community hub

Sheffield City Council helpline

If you need any other help or are in an area not covered by mutual aid/community hubs, contact the Sheffield City Council helpline 0114 273 4567 or check their website https://www.sheffield.gov.uk/home/your-city-council/coronavirus-support-for-people
