The Messenger is BACK and this time, it’s ‘Personnel’

Tell your stories

After a prolonged break due to the pandemic and furlough, the Burngreave Messenger will be returning. Polly Perkins has recently been appointed as our new interim project manager, and we are making moves to re-launch with a new issue soon. No dates to confirm as yet, but hopefully it will be sometime in June.

Polly says:

“I can’t wait for us to re-launch this wonderful community newspaper after the enforced break of the pandemic and furlough. I’m really keen to include fresh ideas, new voices, creative changes and to help the team continue to make your local newspaper serve your community.

“We want you to write for the paper! (Particularly, though not exclusively, if you never have before). We want to publish your photos, your opinions and your adverts. I’m hoping you will get in touch to tell me what you want YOUR paper to be. The Burngreave Messenger is here to serve your needs, so please let me know how we can help do that better.

“My professional background is in film, journalism and community arts and I also deliver secular wedding and funeral ceremonies as a freelance celebrant. In the past I’ve also been a chef, a childminder and chambermaid, and that’s not only in my home life!”
