Story by ECC.
“An incredible adventure!” This is how Dr Sharon Curtis describes her leadership.
Sharon is the head of Ellesmere Children’s Centre and has been since opening in 1996. The award winning centre has touched the lives of many children and families in the heart of the community.
“It really never fails to surprise me to see how many generations return to our care.”
ECC was the first to offer baby care, the first original Children’s centre in the area operating many new services for families. Most of all this early years educational provider has a seal of approval endorsed by Ofsted and remains an Outstanding provision.
Over the years we have created many links with adult learning, Homestart, Sheffield Colleges, and the Community Childcare Network to name a few. Our thanks are shared with the dedicated staff team and a committee who strive for excellence. On a final note the centre has opened a new therapeutic transcultural counselling service ‘EMOSI’ for children aged 2-12 years. Referrals are increasing and the feedback from the families is just incredible.
“We want children to be able to deal with strong emotions and to understand their feelings. We want children to have a sense of belonging and accept their identities proudly”.
Please join Ellesmere Children’s Centre to celebrate this achievement on Saturday 3rd July 2021 2 -6pm at Ellesmere Children’s Centre, 4 Maxwell Street, Shefield S4 7JN.
