Pitsmoor Adventure Playground open on Sundays for first time in 25 years

Pitsmoor Adventure Playground has a new roof, a new kitchen and, for what may be the first time in 25 years, it is now open on SUNDAYS for the rest of the summer holidays.

It’s all change for the families and children that have used Pitsmoor Castle at the adventure playground. After being closed for the fitting of a brand new roof and kitchen, the scaffolding is now down and the playground has reopened in time for the summer holidays.

Fran at the playground says:

“It certainly had been a tough few weeks, but determination and the desire to see our wonderful families and their children kept us all going. Now we’re making up for missing the first week of the holidays by opening on Sundays.

“A big thank you to SKO Kitchen & Bedroom and SL2 builders for all their work – our new kitchen and roof look amazing!”

The first day of opening was celebrated on Thursday 5th August with pizza in the new kitchen, made from scratch with Amy and Sarah at the helm. Then on Sunday 8th August everyone was treated to a delicious curry thanks to Shameem.

“We think that’s the first time we have opened on a Sunday in more than 25 years, and despite a bit of rain it was a lovely afternoon.”
