A poem by Andrew Hodgson, winning entry in last issue’s Dark Peak jacket arts competition.
On our allotment
a small community meets
with chances to grow
Off our allotment
fruit or veg the whole year through
the best takeaways!
On our allotment
weather and work varies
but the will is constant
On our allotment
at least folks help each other
while helping themselves
On our allotment
so many autumn leaves
mean colours are reborn
On our allotment
dandelions have their place
with the other flowers
