Parkwood Springs Lantern Festival 2021

Lantern Festival spider 2019

The 2021 Parkwood Springs Lantern Festival will be on Saturday October 16th at 4.30pm and finishing at 7pm.

Come early and enjoy a great family event!

Because of Covid the event will be a little different from the Lantern Procession of recent years, but it promises to be a day of lantern-making, circus skills workshop for children and a treasure hunt, all followed as night falls by music from Treebeard, lanterns and a fire juggler.

The Festival will start at 4.30pm with puppet and lantern-making, a circus skills workshop for children led by Green Top Circus, and family treasure hunts. Tea, coffee and snacks will be available from then on.

Then at about 6pm the lanterns will be lit, with music from folk-rock band Treebeard. The event will finish with a fire-juggling performance with Chris Marley from Green Top Circus.

There is no admission charge, and all the activities are free. It will be a great community event!

The event takes place on the helipad field just off Shirecliffe Road, Sheffield S5 8XB.
