Supporting our community

Lantern Festival SCC - Viking longboat

Story by the Sheffield City Council North-East Local Area Committee.

Every year your Councillors fund activities across Burngreave Ward. This funding includes activities, like the magnificent light festival in Parkwood Springs. We also fund local groups to deliver sporting activities such as Shiregreen Cricket Club and Step Out Sheffield’s community walk.

Your Councillors have also supported renewal of our parks. We have invested in new play equipment in Wensley Park and new benches for Ellesmere Park.

Your Councillors are focusing investment on community safety and cohesion, supporting children, young people and families whilst also looking to tackle social isolation which affects far too many of our older residents.

Your Councillors would also welcome activities and programmes that help to train our residents to help gain life skills or even employment. Your Councillors are also keen to promote physical and mental wellbeing, this includes addressing issues around poverty and welfare reform.

We are eager to hear from as many residents as possible and would welcome bids to help improve Burngreave Ward as well as support all those that live here.

If you would like to see if your Councillors can support you in delivering change for the better within Burngreave then please email us at: NortheastLAC@sheffield.gov.uk

We look forward to hearing from you.

We want your feed back!

We’d love to hear from more of Burngreave’s people about how they think the Burngreave Messenger could best serve the community, so we’ve created an opportunity for you to tell us what you’d like us to do.
