Fabulous textiles work produced at The Furnival and Abbeyfield Park House with local artist Anne Smithies will be on on display in The Crucible foyer at a FREE event for all on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th April.
The two-day celebration is part of the Sheffield Theatres ‘Together In The City’ project sharing creative works from local communities.
Over 45 Burngreave residents have came along to Textiles Together workshop sessions and created things on these banners. The pieces, produced in workshops at Abbeyfield Park House, The Furnival and Shipshape Health & Wellbeing Centre, will become part of a wall hanging in the Crucible Foyer, representing hope, spring and new beginnings.
Anne says:
“This is the project I have been working on at The Furnival and Abbeyfield House and keeping me out of mischief!”
“The banners are up in all their glory! All the planning, resourcing, teaching, facilitating, laughter, sharing and investing in building communities has bloomed into these amazing pieces. What an incredible opportunity to design and run this Textiles Together project.”
Anne will be there Tuesday lunchtime if you have any questions about any of pieces.
