It is with deep sadness that we must officially inform the community of Burngreave that the Burngreave Messenger is no longer in operation.
After over 20 years of supporting the community, unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we have been unable to secure funds to continue the project. What we really needed was larger grant funding which has been impossible for us to obtain in the current climate.
We’d like to thank everyone who supported us and made donations to keep us afloat in our final months. Thank you also to everybody who has been part of the Messenger over the years, to all of the many volunteers and contributors who wrote stories and took photos, to those who joined our editorial and management teams, to our distribution teams, to our many advertisers and finally to all those worked for the Messenger and made it what it was.
20 plus years is a great legacy!
