This year’s Parkwood Springs Lantern Procession will take place on Saturday 14th October, setting off from the car park on Cooks Wood Road at about 5.45pm. A number of groups – both young people and adults – are going to make lanterns over the weeks before the Procession, helped by local artist Patrick Amber. (The lanterns are lit by battery LEDs – no open flames please.)

There will also be sessions to make lanterns at the Burngreave Cemetery Chapel, Melrose Road, from 2-5pm on Sundays September 24th, October 1st and 8th, at which everyone is welcome. There are also open sessions for children at Pitsmoor Adventure Playground, Melrose Road on Wednesday 27th September, Wednesday 4th October and Thursday 12th October – all from 4-6pm.
