Friends of Parkwood Springs invite you to the 5th Beacons Lantern Procession on Saturday 12th October, setting off from the car park on Cooks Wood Road at 5.45pm. Or COME EARLY for Indian street food and coffee and tea from 4.30pm.
As always there will be some amazing lanterns. Groups of children and adults who have been making lanterns over the last few weeks will parade them up to the Beacons view point on Parkwood Springs as dusk falls and the lights of the city below are illuminated. Follow the Sheffield Samba Band through the woods in the dark for a finale on the football field with food and drink available.
Coffee, tea, and Indian street food (by Fancy an Indian) will be available to buy beforehand, so come early, have something to eat and drink, and chat to your friends.
Everyone is welcome. No lantern is required – you can just join the walk and enjoy the procession. The last four years were great fun and really colourful.
Friends of Parkwood Spring need some people to help with the setting up, stewarding during the Procession and taking down at the end. Organisers will be on site from 12 noon, but help when you can! If you can help, please email email@example.com as soon as possible, saying what times you can be there.
