There IS a Climate Emergency and many more people now agree that this is threatening our survival and our world. We cannot ignore it. Fighting climate breakdown means creating a fair and sustainable world that works for all of us.

Young people around the world, inspired by Swedish schoolgirl, Greta Thunberg, are organising youth climate strike with various activities on 20th September 2019. They have asked for adults to support them.

That is why we are asking local workplace organisations, community bodies, places of worship, any other organisations and individuals to come forward and involve others and raise awareness on climate breakdown at a grass roots level.

So have a meeting on the subject, talk about it, say prayers and meditate on this issue or perhaps make a group noise on 20th September. It’s up to you to decide what works best in your situation. But please do something! We are having a planning meeting for local climate strike activity in Burngreave at 6.00pm, 10th September at Abbeyfield House, Abbeyfield Park, S4 7AT. All very welcome.

If you can, join our Burngreave feeder march assembling at Abbeyfield Park at arriving at Ellesmere Green 11.30am.  Then off to join the big action in the city centre.
